History of BSSN

History of BSSN

Partnerships: From when it was established, BSSN has always worked in partnership with other Bradford based voluntary and community organisations. We have long and well-established partnerships and links within the BD5 area, West Bowling Youth Initiative. In BD8 and BD9 through Bangladeshi Youth Organisation and Bradford Youth Development Partnership, we are also involved with Karmand Centre who are based in the BD3 area. We have worked closely with BIASAN which works city wide with asylum seekers and refugees.

We also have links with Womenzone, Parkside Sports Centre. We have an important relationship with Bradford College, where they have delivered course to our community groups, and we support with youth and community student placements.

BSSN has been adversely affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. The safety net of working with larger partners was taken away in 2020 and this meant we needed to re-emerge as a small but strong independent organisation. We have seen a huge demand for study support, especially by families who have been struggling to home school and support their children during the pandemic. We have worked with young people aged 10yrs to 18yrs supporting with STEM subjects and supporting the social sciences.
